Jiofi : Tips and Hacks

JioFi is a portable Wi-Fi Wireless router by Reliance Jio. It supports both internet and calling and you can use your Jio 4g sim in it. The internet recharge is done by recharging the Jio 4g sim present in the Jiofi.

The features of Jiofi are:
1. It supports only Jio 4g sim.
2. You can connect up to 32 users.
3. It has a pre-built SD card slot, which can be used to store your files and data.
4. It supports up to 150 Mbps 4g speeds along with free calls over LTE (VoLTE).
5. It has 2,300 mAh battery, which gives a backup of up to 8 hours.
6. It has a signal range of 20 meters.

Jiofi tips:
1. You can check the status of the connection, users, battery info,change the password, etc. by clicking on http://jiofi.local.html on the browser of the connected device (Please make sure to connect your device to the jiofi router)
2. The information like the device name and the password is printed on the inner side of the device, below the battery.
3. The default login ID and password are as follows:
          Login ID : administrator
          Password : administrator
4. You can change the password of the Jiofi by logging in to the admin panel (Go to http://jiofi.local.html and enter the username and password as mentioned above).
5. There is a WPS (Wi-Fi Protected Setup) button on the left side of the jiofi where you can connect your device by holding that button for a few seconds and enabling "Connect WPS" option on your phone. The Connect WPS option is in the advanced Wi-Fi setting of your phone.
5. You can manage Jiofi by the "MyJio" app available for both Android and iOS. You can check the data balance available.
6. A single device connected to the Jiofi can be configured to make free calls. To make free calls via Jiofi, you just have to install "Jio4g Voice" app and login using that app.

Jiofi hacks:
1. If in any case you forget the username or password of the Jiofi device, you can reset the device by opening the back cover and pressing the reset button for about 30 seconds, without turning off the device. Use a pointed thing like sim ejector tool for this operation and avoid sharp things like needles, as it may damage the reset button.
2. After resetting the device, you can login with the default ID and password.
          Login ID : administrator
          Password : administrator

    1. Connect your phone/PC to the jiofi device
      Open the browser of the phone/PC
      Type "http://jiofi.local.html" in the URL address bar
      Login to the administrator account by following the details in the post
