THINGS TO LOOK FOR BEFORE PURCHASING A NEW SMARTPHONE

Smartphones are an integral part of our lives and it would be impossible to imagine our lives without it. There are more than 2 billion smartphones in this globe. Every month, there are new phone models that get launched with whole new different specifications and features. These days purchasing a smartphone is a hassle as people easily get into a dilemma or confusion on which phone to purchase, as there is a lot of competition between brands and due to price differences.

A few helpful tips could save a lot of time and confusion over which is a suitable phone or which phone is better in your budget :

1. Operating system (OS) - There are only two dominant OS in the smartphone market these days and they are Android and iOS. Android is an open-source OS from Google and iOS is an OS from the tech giant Apple. There are other less known OS in the market that are not preferred by the people because they are not user-friendly enough or lack several features. While purchasing a new phone, first and the most basic thing that you have to decide is which OS is suitable for you. While Android phones with great specs are available on a budget where as iPhones can cost you a huge chunk of money. Both the OS are good and it will definitely not be wrong to say that the users will prefer the OS that they are familiar with or have used it before. There is always a room for change where you can try a new OS, which will be a whole different experience and eventually you will get adjusted to it.

2. Screen : These days the smartphone screen sizes are getting bigger and better. The larger the screen, the more easier it is to run your fingers and do the different tasks. Smaller screens are a thing of a past and for the present generation anything below a screen size of 4.7 inches is a no go. The only drawback of huge screen phones is that they are difficult to operate with a single hand. The phones within the screen size of 5 inches can be operated with a single hand easily.

3. Battery : The bigger the battery, the longer your smartphone can run without having to charge it. Android phones these days come with battery capacities of more than 3,000 mAh (milli ampere hours). It gives them the ability of running through the whole day with a single full charge. The Apple phones have a smaller battery compared to Android phones, but that doesn't mean that they can't last for a whole day. The Apple's OS balances the hardware and software to ensure the longer battery life without minimizing the performance. If you are preferring Android, then it is better to go for a battery capacity of 3,500 mAh. The increasing battery capacity increases the weight of the phone and so you will know why iPhones are sleek and light.

4. Hardware : The performance of the phone is dependent on the hardware it possesses. The main things to note in the hardware are the main processor, GPU and the RAM. Similar to the PC, the phones have these things that compute to their performance. Better hardware leads to the better features and performance. The low-end smartphones these days come with a minimum of 3GB of RAM. For a better performance Android phone, just go for a minimum of 4GB of RAM along with Snapdragon 435 or 630 processor. Recently available Apple phones have A9 or A10X chip which are designed for optimum performance. Snapdragon 835 and 845 phones support 4K (Ultra HD display) recording and viewing.

5. Camera : Selfies rule our lives and it is very difficult to find a person with a smartphone, who hasn't clicked a selfie or a photo. Better camera phones are everyone's priority. The recent adaptation of dual rear cameras have increased the quality and features of what a smartphone camera can do. The high-end flagship smartphones these days are no lesser than the expensive DSLRs in the market. With many features like portrait-mode, 4K video capture and slow-motion upto 480 ps has led to the revolution in camera industry and a smartphone can be a pocket-sized DSLR for many. Look for the minimum camera requirement of 8MP front camera and 13+5 MP rear camera as budget-friendly low end options.

Storage : Due to the increase in smartphone features, there has been an increase in the storage requirements. Smartphones in the past, the initial phones sported an internal memory of 256 MB. But, due to recent advances in technology, a single HD photo has a memory of nearly 2 MB and a few apps and games can take more than a GB of storage. So, recent phones come with a minimum of 32 GB internal memory and it is recommended to go for at least 64 GB of internal memory as 32 GB won't take much time to get full.

These are the main things that you have to look before purchasing the smartphone and there a few other advanced things like  build quality, fast-charging, gaming performance, network bands, sensors, gps, etc. that are not going to be much of a concern as a lot of recent smartphones are equipped with these features.

Always compare the specs of the phone with tha price to get a clear view of the budget - friendly high performance phone.

If you are going to purchase a new budget-friendly Android phone, I would recommend a minimum spec chart :

64 - bit Snapdragon 630 processor
4 GB of RAM with 64 GB of internal storage
5.5 inch full HD display
4,000 mAh battery
8 MP front facing camera and 13+5 dual rear cameras

RECOVER THE DATA ON YOUR CORRUPTED SD CARD OR USB DRIVE WITHOUT ANY SOFTWARE

Recently the SD card on my smartphone got corrupted. It happened as I had removed it accidentally, without un-mounting/ejecting it beforehand, as it was in the Hybrid sim slot of my smartphone and I removed it to change the sim card. When I tried accessing my SD card, it was corrupted and it was completely inaccessible and I tried different methods to access it.  I tried various methods like: 1. Putting the SD card on a different phone. 2. Trying the card reader on all the different USB ports on my PC. 3. Trying different software mentioned in different "promotional" websites/blogs. I was very much frustrated that I could not repair my corrupted SD card. The so-called softwares mentioned were just trying to rip me off as the previous users had mix-success with them and I would not believe these money making softwares with my hard-earned cash. The final step in-order to recover my SD card was to "format" it and re-use it again. But, the data in t

Back then, the phones had Android 1.0 operating system; officially known as Android Alpha. Android runs on an open-source operating system model, which enables the developers to modify the OS as per their requirements. It is 2018 and the Android phones now run on Android 8.0 (officially known as Android Oreo), and the phones are way more powerful and user-friendly. Back then, the phones had 512 Mb of RAM and up to 1 Gb of ROM. The phones lacked a few functionalities and users had to look for a solution for these limitations. Finally, the solution cane in the name of "Rooting". Rooting is the term for a process that gives the user a privileged access, in order to modify the device and to overcome the software and hardware limitations. Rooting was very popular among the users back in 2010 and back then, every Android ph
